I am the locally elected Assembly Member for Pontypridd.
In addition to my role as local AM, I was appointed as the Welsh Assembly Government’s Minister for Environment, Sustainability and Housing in 2007 and I relish the challenges of this important role.
I believe strongly in serving my constituency to the best of my ability. I am active in representing the views of my constituents to the Assembly, to the relevant local authority, Rhondda Cynon Taff or Cardiff, the UK government and in the press. In tandem with Dr Kim Howells, the local Labour MP, I hold a regular advice surgery programme, arrange street surgeries during the summer months and run a open door office to make sure the residents of the Pontypridd constituency can contact me easily as their locally elected member.
